Lucky Lady Scoops £390,000 Bingo Jackpot
A woman from Golders Green is planning to refurbish a church in her home village in the Phillipines after scooping a whopping £390,000 on the National Bingo Game’s Platinum Jackpot play-off.
“I work at various jobs, including cleaning, caring and baby-sitting and apart from paying my rent and buying food, I have been sending money every month to my family of nine in the Phillipines,” said the 55 years-old, who has three adopted children and is engaged to a retired doctor from Bracknell. “It is a blessing for me and I can help a lot of people.”
The lucky lady joined the Beacon Bingo club in Cricklewood Broadway in1999 and plays there about three times a week.
“She didn’t know how much she had won at first. I announced it gradually, first the house prize of £1,100, then the Regional prize of £1,664, the National Game prize of £40,000 and finally half of the Platinum Jackpot prize of £350,104,” said Beacon assistant manager Inderjeet Singh. “By that time, the 2,300 people in the club were all standing, clapping and cheering. The atmosphere was amazing.
