Scottish Woman Breaks Bingo World Record
The record for Bingo’s biggest prize of all time has been broken by a 38-year-old cleaner from Hamilton, who won almost £1.2m over the Easter weekend.
The Club 3000 in Coatbridge erupted with Bingo players jumping up and down and cheering when it was announced that Soraya Lowell had won the National Bingo Game and the Platinum Jackpot, scooping a whopping £1,167,795.
“It just won’t sink in yet,” said the mother of four.“I haven’t slept at all but I will be back at work on Tuesday as usual. I clean offices until 1.30am and I don’t intend to give up my job. I have three daughters and a son aged 13, 15, 19 and 21 to help me spend it. They have all put in wee orders already. The two oldest want convertibles and don’t even have licences yet!”
“This is our second millionaire in 8 weeks,” said Steve Baldwin, Communications Manager for the National Bingo Game. “We are thrilled for Soraya and look forward to presenting her with her record breaking cheque.”
