Pensioner from Livingston wins £40,000
Fifty years of playing Bingo have finally paid off for a Livingston pensioner, after she scooped more than £40,000 at her local Carlton Bingo club.
The 78-year-old widow says she was "gob-smacked" when she completed a full house in 38 numbers and won the National Bingo Game prize of £38,200, plus the Regional prize of £2,038 as well as the house prize of £171.
“I didn’t realise I had won the National,” said the surprised pensioner, “I thought I had just won the house prize. It was a big shock.”
As well as treating her two sons, the woman plans to buy a new carpet for her home and take a holiday to Ireland.
