Cumbernauld Mum Wins Platinum Jackpot!
A library assistant from Cumbernauld has won £270,486 on the National Bingo Game’s Platinum Jackpot play-off.
“I was really shaken up when they told me how much I had won and I am still in shock,” said the 36-year-old winner, who does not want to be named. “I got no sleep at all that night. It is an amazing amount of money, particularly as my previous biggest win was £200.”
The library assistant was playing Bingo at the Gala Club in North Carbrain Road, Cumbernauld on Sunday afternoon when she completed a full house in 45 calls and won more than a quarter million pounds.
This was made up of the Platinum Jackpot prize of almost £260,000, the Sunday afternoon National Game prize of more than £10,000, the Zone prize of £1,000, the Club prize of £200 and the £40 house prize.
“My mum started me off playing bingo as soon as I was old enough at 18, and we play together at the Gala Club two or three times a week,” she recalls. “However she was not with me on Sunday and she had her mobile switched off. I wasn’t able to tell her until 5p.m. I telephoned my husband straightaway and he just wouldn’t believe me. I had to put the manager on to confirm it.”
The lucky winner plans to use the money to pay off her mortgage and then travel to Egypt and Las Vegas.
Don’t forget: The next Platinum Jackpot play–off will be on Sunday 25 May!
