West Rainton Woman Shares £61k Bingo Win With Friends
Anne Davison, a 67-year-old grandmother from West Rainton, who has won £61,000 playing Bingo with her husband Joe at the Gala Club in Washington, has decided to give half of the win to the her Bingo buddies – even though they were not with her that night.
“We always said we would share whatever any of us won, and this time is no different,” said Ann, referring to Nancy and Peter Stephenson, with whom she regularly plays. “I won £10,000 last year at the Gala and shared that with them.”
Ann completed a full house in 40 calls and won the National Bingo Game prize of £60,000, plus the zone prize of more than £1,300 and the house prize of £160.
“It was Peter’s 60th birthday on Saturday and they were having a family barbecue, so they didn’t come to Bingo, “said the retired telephonist. “Later that evening we gatecrashed their barbecue and told them the good news! Needless to say they were really excited and as happy as we were. It will be nice to have some money in the bank to help boost our pension.”
