Cusworth Mum Wins £187k at Gala Bingo Club
A 43-year-old woman from Cusworth, who went to play bingo at the Gala Club in Doncaster last Sunday night because her hubby was watching the footie, ended up winning more than £187,000!
Her big win was made up of the Platinum Jackpot prize of over £177,000; the Sunday afternoon National Game prize of almost £9,000; the Zone prize of £1,000 and the house prize of £185. She completed a full house in 45 calls, the lowest number in any of the clubs playing nationwide.
“I just can’t take it in and I have to keep pinching myself. It’s a nice feeling but a bit like sickness in my stomach,” said the lucky lady. “I only joined the Gala Club in Wheatley Hall Road originally four years ago so that I could use the loo there when I was passing, because Matalan closed theirs. Then I decided I liked playing bingo. I usually play on a Tuesday and occasionally a Thursday, but last weekend my nine-year-old son was at cub camp and my husband went to a pub with friends to watch Doncaster Rovers in the play-off, so I decided I might as well go to the Gala.”
